Carrie Mae (Pennyman) Jones

Mrs. Carrie Mae Pennyman Jones, 79, of Cartersville, Ga passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 1:00pm at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1 Mt. Olive Street, Cartersville, GA 30120. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00pm (noon) until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home.

Carrie was born in Bartow County, Georgia on November 21, 1937 to the late Bertha Ellis and Jessie Pennyman. She was educated in the Bartow County School System. She accepted Christ at a very young age.

In 1996, she took an early retirement due to her health from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 32 years of service.

In Carrie’s spare time she loved to cook, go fishing and spend time with her grandchildren. The apples of her eyes were all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carrie leaves many loved ones to cherish her memory; daughter, Carolyn Rice Al-Jaber; three sisters, Pearline Henderson of Atlanta, Bertha Dodson of Cartersville and Annie Callahan of Acworth; one brother, Howard Morris Pennyman (Gertrude) of Cartersville; daughter-in-law, Marchelle Williams; six grandchildren, Kevin Williams (Leigh), Tori Johnson (Davin), Cedric Williams, Brandon Williams, Kendra Rice and Adam Williams; seven great-grandchildren, Christian, Kyler, Vanessa, Kambree, Braylin, Camden and Kamille; special nieces, nephews and a host of other loved ones.
