FREDDIE DOUGLAS JAMES, JR

Mr. Freddie Douglas James, Jr., 66, of Cartersville, GA passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 1:00pm at Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1 Mt. Olive Street, Cartersville, GA 30120. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home.

Freddie Douglas James, Jr. was born in Cartersville, Georgia on July 29, 1951 to the late Freddie Douglas James, Sr. and Minnie Lee Solomon James. 

Freddie, affectionately known as Brother to his friends and family, attended Summer Hill High School in Cartersville, Georgia and graduated with the class of 1969. Freddie was employed by Georgia Power Company for numerous years as a contractor.

He joined the Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Michael Sutton.

In his past time, Freddie enjoyed sports, watching old western movies, traveling and listening to old school music.  Freddie always supported his son, Travis in his sports and recreation activities.

Freddie James, Jr., leaves to cherish his memories, one devoted and loving son, Travis James; three sisters, Lois Jean Kellogg (James), Shirley Ann Clemmons (Frank), and Kathy Brown (Montana); two brothers, Roy Lee Knowles and Ronald James (Liller); one aunt, Sarah Freeman of Detroit, Michigan; one sister-in-law, Betty James; special friends, James Alvin Johnson (Jimbo) and Hedy Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, a devoted caregiver when needed, Quandra James Hagan and friends.
