Gregory Keith Collins

Mr. Gregory Keith Collins, also known as "Coach Collins", 54, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clarence Brown Conference Center, 5450 Highway 20, Cartersville, GA. 30121.  The body will lie in  state at the Conference Center from 10:00am until the hour of service.The family will receive friends on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home.

Greg was born November 28, 1961 in Miami, Dade County, Florida, to Isaac David Collins and Nancy Jean Collins.  He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 30, 2016.

Greg graduated from Miami Jackson High School.  While attending high school, he excelled in track and field, winning top honors in all city and county tournaments.  He trained as a boxer in the city of Miami at Moore Park. 

Greg was a pillar in the community.  He coached track and field for Cass Middle School in Cassville, Georgia.  He was an active member of the West Cartersville Church of Christ.  Greg had several hobbies.  He loved listening to music, swimming, and was a connoisseur of men’s fashion.

Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Jean Collins.

Left to cherish Greg’s memories, his devoted wife of 21 years, Dorothy Melinda Collins; father, Isaac David Collins (Carolyn); sister, Sherill L. Jackson; brother, Eric Keith Collins (Tiffany); step-children, LaTanisha Jackson, Shana Scott, Tremain Scott, and Nicole Wade; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, devoted aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, caring cousins, special friends, loved ones and friends.
