Harvey Maxwell, Jr.,aka”Boo”, 76, of Cartersville, Ga. passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:00pm at St. Luke AME Church, 130 Jones Street, Cartersville, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 9:00am at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia.

Harvey Maxwell, Jr. was born on August 12, 1940 to the late Harvey W. Maxwell, Sr. and Anne Mae Lavette. He was educated in the Cobb County School System. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Air Force. He served his country for four dedicated years and returned home to begin working for General Electric Company. He worked diligently for General Electric for twenty plus years.

“Boo” as he was called by everyone was known for his flare and style. He was always well dressed and the suits he wore always made people talk. He was outgoing and a people person; and making people happy was his mission in life.

Harvey later opened a night club in Dalton, Georgia called “Jazzette”, and people would have many great times in his club, laughing, relaxing, dancing and having a good time. His club was open for over fifteen years; hopefully you were one of the lucky ones to have visited his establishment.

He leaves to cherish his memories; four sons, Anthony Maxwell(Gwen), Harvey Maxwell III, Warren Hammond (Teresa) and Derrick Maxwell; one daughter, Angela Sutton-Washington; siblings, Matlin Hayes (Ed), James Maxwell (Charlene) and Sidney Maxwell (Irish); fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
