JAMES LEE CANTY

Mr. James Lee Canty, 61, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Without Walls International Church, Cartersville, Georgia. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home.

 On October 5, 1955, James Lee Canty was born to Lula Mae Speights and Raymond Clyde Linley, Jr.  On Sunday, April 2, 2017, James departed his earthly life and entered into eternal peace.
 James was educated in the Cartersville School System, where he played football and was on the swim team.  He graduated from Cartersville High School in 1974.  He joined Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age, singing in the choir and also was a member of the Junior Missionary Ministry.  James also played the guitar, participated in body building contest, and trained others for body building.  In the gym, and around town, he was famously known as “Big Dawg”.  He won several Mr. Georgia Body Building Contests.
 
 James leaves Loving and Fond memories to be cherished by his Mother, Lula Speights (Richard); Father, Raymond Clyde Linley, Jr. (Charlotte); Brothers, Larry Speights (Alma), Richard Speights, Jr. (Barbara), Gerald Linley (Penny), and Michael Linley (Sandra); Sisters, Lisa Jackson (Leon), Regina Bryant (Michael), Cynthia Echols (Neal), Daphne Spencer (Troy), Latresse Bray (Sammie), and Vera Byrd (LaBron); Special Cousin’s, Clark Lee Johnson and Scottie Rex Johnson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, loved ones, friends, and specially his DaVita Dialysis Family.
