Mr. Frank Thomas Zachery, Sr.

Mr. Frank Thomas Zachery, Sr., 85, of Kingston, Georgia, passed Saturday, February 3, 2018.

Service for Mr. Zachery will be Friday, February 9, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 85 Shaw Street, Kingston, Georgia 30145.  he will lie-in-state from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.  Interment will follow the service at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia, 30114.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2018, 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Mack Eppinger & Sons Funeral Home.

On February 3, 2018, God called home His good and humble servant, Mr. Frank Thomas Zachery, Sr. to enter eternal rest and peace. 

Frank was born March 5, 1932, in Kingston, Georgia to the late Alford Zachery and Irene Waters Zachery.  Frank joined Queen Chapel Independent Methodist Church in Kingston, Georgia at an early age.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War.  Frank was a great fan of the New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves.  After he lost his eyesight, he spent a great deal of his time sitting on his front porch talking to family and friends.  He was especially fond of his grandchildren.  He had a great memory and would share stories of past experiences about his family and friends.  Frank was employed by Southern Railroad and worked as a machinist at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Cartersville, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alford and Irene Zachery, and seven siblings: Albert Zachery, Ellen Lattner, Fred Zachery, Mable Flecher, Emma Noble, Christine Wilson, and Lucile Zachery.

Frank leaves many loved ones to cherish his memory. He was united in marriage to Virginia Stephens Zachery and through this union they had seven children:  Dora Barrett (Robert), Cartersville, Georgia; Frank Thomas Zachery, Jr., Cartersville, Georgia; Roy Zachery (Beverly), Lakeview, Florida; Ronnie Zachery (Marsha), Kingston, Georgia; Evone Wells, McIntosh, Alabama; Sarah Solomon (Sidney), White, Georgia; and Leroy Zachery, Atlanta, Georgia.  Frank had two other children, Richard Walford, Detroit, Michigan, and Stacey Owens (Eric), Atlanta, Georgia; a sister, Betty Hill (Robert); an aunt, Lilly Zachery; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 30 nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

Frank had special caregivers: his late sister Lucile Zachery, Virginia Zachery, Fred Thomas Zachery, Ronnie Zachery, Leroy Zachery, Dora and Robert Barrett, and Sarah and Sidney Solomon. He has special cousins, Billy Sanders and Mack Sanders, and friend, David Lee Applin.
