Mr. Lawrence Edward Williams, Jr.

Mr. Lawrence Edward Williams, Jr., 59, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at New Shiloh Baptist Church, 85 Shaw Street, Kingston, GA. The family will receive friends at New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. 

Lawrence Edward Williams, Jr. was born on April 23, 1956 to Carrie Pennymon Jones and the late Lawrence Williams, Sr. He was a member of the Cartersville High School Class of 1974. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Kenneth Rice.

Lawrence was employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 29 years. After the plant closed, he was employed at Shaw Industries until his health failed. Known affectionately by the family as the "Grill Master", he loved preparing and watching people enjoy his food. He had a passion for the children in his family always providing them with meals, afterschool care, and special nicknames. He enjoyed fishing and was skilled in the game of basketball, passing on his expertise to his sons, nieces, and nephews.

Warm and fond memories will forever remain with his devoted wife, Marchelle; sons, Kevin (Leigh), Brandon, and Adam; grandchildren, Christian, Kyler, and Kambree; mother, Carrie Pennymon; sisters, Carolyn Rice, Al-Jaber and Edith Williams; aunts, Pearline Henderson, and Bertha Dodson; uncle, Howard Pennymon; mother-in-law, Camilla Livsey; brothers-in-law, Duncan (Myra) Livsey, and Rev. Randy (Beverly) Livsey; sisters-in-law, Susan (Gerald) Mayweather and Kimberly Livsey. Special nieces and nephews: Tori (Davin) Johnson, Kendra Rice, Lauren and Gavin Livsey, and Jessica Livsey; Cameron, Avory and Aubrey Mayweather and a lifelong friend, brother and classmate, Michael McCorkle.
