Mrs. Blanche Miller Obituary

Mrs. Blanche Clara Miller,100, formerly of Cartersville, GA. passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2018. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00pm at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00pm until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia.

Mrs. Blanche Clara Miller was born January 7, 1918 in Springdale, Taylor County, Florida.  She was the fourth of six girls and three boys born to Landers and Clara Johnson Canty.  She departed this earthly walk of life and entered eternal rest and her heavenly home on April 16, 2018.  As Blanche grew from childhood to adulthood, her life exemplified a deep love and affection for all of her family and friends.

Blanche was educated in the Bartow County School System and graduated from Cannalene Beauty College in Atlanta, Georgia in 1946, with a degree in Cosmetology.  On May 16, 1947, she married the love of her life, Mr. Lewis Erwin Miller and to this union two children were born.  Lewis and Blanche shared forty-four wonderful years of marriage together.

Aunt Blanche, as she was affectionately known, was involved in many hobbies and community activities.  She loved flowers, working crossword and various other puzzles, cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting, and quilting.  Years ago, when her children were growing up, she was active in the PTA at Summer Hill School.  Her love for people made her a good neighbor.

Aunt Blanche joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in 1933, under Reverend Bryant.  She served her church well and was a devoted member for over eighty-five years.  She served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, Deaconess, Usher, and kitchen helper - on special occasions.

Mrs. Blanche leaves much love and many precious memories to be cherished by her children, Bernard Miller (Jo Ellen) of Madison, Alabama, and Brenda Miller, of Cartersville, Georgia; seven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Annette Canty; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and cherished friends.
