Mrs. Vernice (Eppinger) Tuggle

Mrs. Vernice  Eppinger Tuggle, affectionately known as "Necie", was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 25, 2016. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 407 Auburn Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30312. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Murray Brothers Funeral Home, 1199 Utoy Springs Road S.W., Atlanta, Georgia 30331. The body will be open for public viewing at the Murray Brothers Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. until the hour of Family Visitation.

Vernice was born on September 1, 1933, in Marietta, Georgia to the late Mable Robinson and Bradley Eppinger, Sr.   

She was a long-standing member of Ebenezer Baptist and served on many organizations. She was a Diamond Life Member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Vernice received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Fort Valley State College and her Master of Education from Georgia State University.  She was employed with the Atlanta Public School System, teaching for 40 plus years. She taught at Price High School and Frederick Douglas High School.

She is survived by Robert Tuggle, husband of 59 years; Armentha Williams, sister; and a host of other relatives and friends.
