Mr. Phillip Henry Sr., 63, of Cartersville, GA passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00pm at  Without Walls International Church, 214 Nelson Street, Cartersville, GA. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 7:00 – 8:00pm at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home.

Phillip Henry Sr. was born on May 11, 1953 in Hatchechubbee, Alabama to the late Albert and Annie Bell (Crowell) Henry. He attended Chavala High School in Seale, Alabama. After graduation, he lived in several cities until he settled in Cartersville in the 70’s. He met Lisa Speights and married and to this union of 16 years two children were born, Vanieca and Phillip.

Phillip was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as a member of the choir. He later moved his membership to Breath of God until his health rendered him unable to attend.

He was employed by Thompson and Weinman until the company relocated. After that he was employed by Goodyear Mills and remained there until his health failed him. Phillip was well loved by those who knew him. He liked to fish, and had a great love for detailing cars. He would spend hours every week washing his car and the engine.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; children, Vanieca (Edward) Curtis of Cartersville, Georgia and Phillip Henry Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Zyon Howard, Devan and Elijah Curtis and a loving addition of six grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Ponce) Gerald of Dumfries, Virginia; brothers, Ray C (Patricia) Henry of Cartersville, GA and Albert Jr. (Ann) Henry of Phenix, Alabama; mother-in-law, Lula Speights; brother-in-law, Derrick Yard of Norfolk, Virginia; aunts, Betty Richards of New Jersey and Idella James of Phenix, Alabama; special friends/caregivers, Lisa (Leon) Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
