Mr. Willie Everett, Jr. age 81 of Cartersville, Georgia passed on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 12:00 Noon, at Faith Temple COGIC, 29 Redcomb Dr. Cartersville, Georgia. The body will lie in state in the church from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, March 15, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.  Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.

Willie Everett Jr. was born on January 15, 1943; he was the second of five children born in Cordele, Georgia to the late Elder Willie Everett Sr. and Alma Roquemore Everett.

Willie grew up in church, accepting Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Supt. Simon Shuman. He was a faithful member, serving in various organizations.

He received his early education in the Crisp County School System. After his family relocated to Cartersville, Georgia. Willie graduated from Summer Hill High School as Valedictorian in the Class of 1961. He furthered his education at the Tennessee State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and Music.

He began playing the piano at an early age, practicing at various neighbor’s homes. Over the years, he became an accomplished musician, playing for local singers, Alexander Chapel, Faith Temple Church of God in Christ and the Emancipation Proclamation programs for many years.

On August 13, 1968, Willie entered into the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged on August 12, 1970. After serving in the military, He accepted his first teaching job in Chase City, Virginia, where he met and married the love of his life, Edna Garnet White. He later became a Musical Director for the City of Cartersville School System. Upon retiring from the School System, Willie became an Insurance Agent for Conseco Life Insurance Company. Willie had an impeccable sense of style and a witty sense of humor. He loved his family and enjoyed hosting family gatherings at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 48 years, Edna Garnett White Everett; brother, Vaughn Carthell “ Squirrel” Everett; sister, Lois Everett; and a very close friend from Summer Hill High School and Tennessee Sate University classmate, Harrison “Tee” Dean.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his two daughters, Ebony Carmen Everett and Allison Denise Livsey; a beloved grandson, Bryson Graham Everett who was his pride and joy and best friend; a loving brother and sister, Bernard( Janice) Everett and Gladys Everett (Luzell) Smith; sister-in-law, Bertha (Rev. Doctor John) Womack; brothers-in-law, Tyree and Jerry White; aunts, Pecola Jackson, Betty (Henry) Rainge; uncle, Curtis (Margie) Everett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins , other relatives and friends; Special cousin and caretaker, Cassandra Stanley; God daughters, Sharri Lewis, Lena Strong, and Cecelia Carson; Special friends, Alvin Slocum, Shelton Blunt, Minister Love and Minister Matthew Gardner; and a host of other relatives and friends.
