Mary Foster Obituary

Mrs. Mary Alma Ward Foster, 65 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 11:00am at Pine Grove Independent Church, 22 Pine Grove Church Rd. NE, Cartersville, GA 30121. The body will lie in state in the church from 10:00am until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Ga 30114.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, GA 30120.

Mary Ward-Foster began her life on December 7, 1953 in Gordon County, she was the daughter of the late James and Azzie Jeanette McClure Ward. As a young girl she helped take care of the younger children in the family. During her youth the family moved to Bartow County where they farmed and worked together. Mary was educated in the Bartow County School System and upon graduating she became employed at Spring City Knitting until the company closed. She worked several jobs throughout the community and graced so many with her beautiful smile and sweet disposition. 

Later in life Mary worked n the food service department at Woodland High School until her diagnosis of cancer in 2012. Mary was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Stilesboro where she was an active member . She later joined Pine Grove Independent Church where she faithfully served on several committees and as a Church Elder along with her husband Terry Foster.

Mary devoted her life to her family, she loved having her nieces and nephews over to visit and spoil them with gifts. She had a very special bond with her grandchildren, they were the light of her world.

Mary s survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Terry Foster; sons, Brannon (Janelle), Shannon (Vernita) and Chadwick Foster; sisters, Dorothy (Donald) Goode, Anita Livsey, Charlotte (Larry) Darby and Amanda (Dexter) Wilbon; sisters-in-law, Levon Ward, Debbie Phillips  and LaRuth (Myles) Wilkins; Mother-in-law, Mary Frances Foster; brothers-in-law, Clarence Kincaid, Lee Champion and Joel (Denise) Foster; nieces, Monica (Derrick) Gober, Yolanda (Vernon) Clay, Tracy Goode, Janice Goode, April Livsey, Lottie Livsey, Amber Darby, Delores Wesley, Felicia (Billy) Goodson, LaMaya Wilkins, Toya Dupree, Shalonda Foster and Sequila Champion; nephews, Andre (Tiffany) Ward, Cedric (Katasha) Ward, Brett Ward, Derrick Cooley, DeWayne Cooley, Jason Vanzant, Jeremy Ward, Christopher Ward, Toab Livsey, Matthew James, Walter Johnson, LaVar Milner, Fredrick Foster, Brian Boston, Jesse Boston, Lietice William ad Adrian Baker; aunts, Elease McClure and Henrietta McClure; special cousins, Robert Hutcherson, Elmer (Ella Pearl) Patterson Jr. and a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
