Mr. Billy Gene Jackson

Mr. Billy Jackson, 76 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, August 5,2018.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00am in the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia. The body will lie in state in the chapel from 10:00am until the hour of service. The family is having Repast at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia, immediately after the service. Please join them as they celebrate this Homegoing. Interment will follow on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10:30 am in the Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, Georgia 30114.

Late in the afternoon on Sunday, August 5, 2018, a Heavenly Angel came and released the body of Billy Gene Jackson.  Billy was the youngest child born to the late Theodore Jackson and Eula Bell Jackson.  He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Mable Jackson; sisters, Janet Jackson Dean, and Grace Elder; and brother, John Jackson.

Billy attended Summer Hill High School and served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years.  Upon retirement and an honorable discharge, he returned to Cartersville and worked at Shaw Industries and Continental PET, until his health forced him to retire a second time.

Billy joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at a young age.  He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews.

He leaves to mourn his passing stepson, Brent Jackson; five nieces, Glenda Stephens (James), Donna I. Clark, Janine Jones (Michael), Cassaundra Bryant and Vivian Holland (Phillip); one nephew, Wesley T. Dean, Sr.; one sister-in-law, Mattie Jackson; one aunt, Martha Jackson; great nieces and nephews, Jerome Stanley, Nikki McKinely, Stormy Webster (Eugene), Danetia Clark, Courtney Stanley, Scotty Bryant, Ty Dean, Danielle Dean, Justin Jones, Meghen Jones, Qiara Dean and Logan Webster; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends
