Mr. Christopher Robert Winters

Mr. Christopher Robert Winters, 53 of Augusta, Georgia, formerly of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away on September 26, 2019.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday September 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church 211 Henry Mack Hill Road, Rydal, Georgia 30171.  The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, 319 N. Erwin Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, GA 30120.

On Thursday September 26, 2019, Minister Christopher Robert Winters, transitioned into his new home a wonderful and peaceful place with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Chris brought so much laughter and happiness to everyone that he met. His free spirit and love for family and friends will be held as a precious and dear memory by all that knew and loved him.

Minister Chris was born June 25, 1966 to the late Mr. Robert Winters and Hanna Pye in Bartow County, Georgia. Minister Chris attended the Gordon County School System. Later in life he went to Alabama Truck Driving School. Chris accepted his call to ministry 17 years ago, he never missed an opportunity to spread the good word and tell people about the Lord even to strangers. His family and friends meant everything to him.

In his passing he leaves to mourn his wife, Emma Ruth Winters; his children, Sheena Banks of Cartersville, Georgia, Crystal Winters of Augusta, Georgia, NeTanya and Netasha Winters of Riverdale, Georgia; two grandchildren, Zaylen and Tyree; his mother, Hanna Pye of Cartersville, Georgia; two sisters, Carol DeHaven of Cartersville, Georgia, and Keesha Winters of Ringgold, Georgia; a special friend, Cheryl McGough of Augusta, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
