Mr. Fred Brown, Jr.

Mr. Fred Brown, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Service for Mr. Brown will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.  He will lie in-state from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery - Cartersville, Georgia.  The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2019, from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Mack Eppinger & Sons Funeral Home.

Mr. Fred Brown, Jr. was born February 18, 1956 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Leatha Richards and Fred Brown, Sr. He was educated in the Cartersville City School System. At an early age Fred joined Mt. Zion Grassdale Baptist Church, where remained a member until the time of his passing.

Fred met and married the love of his life, Janice Louise Jewell and to this union two children were born, Frederick and Corey. He was employed with Chemical Products, Tip Top Poultry and Federal Express. Fred often referred to himself as being a “jack of all trades” and “handy man”, as he was always working on some kind of project. When he was not working you could find him fishing at the lake, grilling out with his family and friends, listening to music and just enjoying life.Fred was a character on many different levels and to know him was to love him. 

Fred is now re-united with his beloved wife, Janice Brown; son, Frederick Brown; parents, Leatha and Fred Brown, Sr., brothers, Charley Brown and Butler Brown; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Brown, and Francess Brown. 

Fred leaves to cherish his memory, son, Corey (Marquetta) Brown; grandchildren, Cortez Brown, Asia Brown and Amya Barrett; brothers, Elbert (Kathy) Brown, and Waitsul Brown; sister, Carrenter Brown; special friend, Marvin Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.
