Mr. Isiah Chaney, Jr.

Mr. Isiah Chaney, Jr. was born August 3, 1952 in Jefferson, Alabama to the late Jessie Lee Potts-Jones and the late Isiah Chaney, Sr.  He was raised by the late Theodore Johnson.  Isiah entered into eternal rest at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, on July 19, 2017.

Isiah confessed his love for Christ at an early age, giving his life to him, and being baptized.  He was united in marriage to Elisa O. Chaney on December 27, 1997, in Demopolis, Alabama.  To their union a son was born, Isiah Chaney, III.

Isiah was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Thomas Lee, Thomas, Cleophu, and Joe Nathan Johnson.

Isiah leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Elisa O. Chaney; sons, Deon Chaney, Oscar Lee Wiggs, III, Isiah Lamar Chaney, Isiah Brandon Chaney, Martez Chaney, and Chadwick Akies; adopted son, Anthony Scott Hines; five grandchildren; eight brothers, Joseph (Marilyn) Chaney, Sr. of Linden, Alabama, Lorenzo (Margaret) Chaney of Jefferson, Alabama, David Chaney, Sr. of Mobile, Alabama, Robert Chaney of Hollis, New York, Ernest, Roosevelt, John C., and Randolph Johnson, all of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Bonita Chaney, and Mattie Wade, both of Jefferson, Alabama, and Geraldine Johnson, of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Diane (Bernard) Goins and Priscilla Perryman, both of Hartford, Connecticut; very special God-sister, Mary Howard; special niece, Keyanna Monay Chaney, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends at Mack Eppinger & Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.  

Service for Mr. Chaney will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 18 County Road Highway 21, Demopolis, Alabama 36732, under the direction of Larkin & Scott Mortuary, LLC.
