Mr. John Matthew McClain was born October 13, 1971 in Cartersville, Georgia, to Mr. John W. McClain and Mrs. Willie Jean McAfee Waits.  Thursday, March 22, 2018 Mr. McClain made a peaceful transition into the arms of a loving savior.

Mr. McClain was educated in the Cartersville School System and was an advocate sports fan from his youth.  John enjoyed playing football, basketball and running track.  Affectionately known as “06” sometimes called “Train”, he set many football records in high school and folks from all over would pack the stands to watch him play.  Due to his outstanding athleticism John was highly recruited by major colleges and universities.  However, due to a heart condition John was unable to pursue his college and NFL football dreams.  Some of Johns other favorite past times were traveling, going to various restaurants with his fiancé, to pick up new ideas as he was always cooking and enjoyed spending time with his family.

John loved his children and was preceded in death by his father, John W. McClain; maternal grandmother, Irene McAfee; paternal grandparents, Willie and Mary Irene (Jackson) McClain; Aunt, Wilma McClain; Uncles, Timothy McClain, Marvin McAfee, Fred McAfee, Hardy McAfee, and Joe Howard McAfee

Loving memories will always be cherished by his children, Christian, Bianca, Brei’anna, Melanie and Brittany; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joel and Willie Jean Waits of Acworth, Georgia; sister, Erica (Paul) Brown of Dallas Georgia; fiancé, Yolanda Milow of Stone Mountain, Georgia; maternal aunts, Diane Crawford, Christine (Tim) Henderson, and Vester Moore; maternal uncles, Solomon (Barbara) McAfee, and Robert (Betty) McAfee both of Cartersville Georgia; paternal uncle, Titus (Charlene) McClain; paternal aunts, Katrenia (Donald) McClain-White, Mary (Barry) Dixon, Juanita Sanders, Sarah Knox, and Mary Lou Knox of Chattanooga, Tennessee; stepmother, Sharon Sanders McClain of Chattanooga, Tennessee; 2 grandsons, 2 nieces, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
