Mr. Larry Ray Philpot

Mr. Larry Ray Philpot, 70, of Dallas, Georgia passed Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 11:00am at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 209 West Copper Avenue, Dallas, GA 30132. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.

Larry Ray Philpot was born on February 2, 1947 to the late Lizzie and Fletcher Philpot. He joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He attended the  Paulding County School System where he graduated from Matthews Consolidated High School with the Class of 1967. After graduating from high school , Larry went on to serve with the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era. He was Honorably discharged in 1969.

Upon leaving the Army , he married the love of his life, Juanita Davis and to this union , they were blessed with two sons. Larry loved helping people, talking with people, and he never met a stranger. His all time favorite things to do was sing gospel songs, dance and writing poems.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories; sons, Deshannon Davis (Judy) and Larry Philpot (Katrina); eight grandchildren, Phelan Philpot, Ashton Shelton, Ashley Askew, Xavier Davis, Adam Davis, Katrina Davis, Kelvin Lomax and Mercedes Williams; eight great-grandchildren; eleven siblings, Rebecca Price (Jimmy), Bobby Philpot (Ann), Marie Williams (Samuel0, Sarah Philpot, Dianne Lynn Stafford (Terry), Harvey Philpot (Sandra), Dottie King, Ricky Philpot, George Philpot, Catherine Jones (Mark), Cynthia Howard (Theo) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
