Mr. Richard Andrew Foster, Sr.

Mr. Richard Andrew Foster, Sr., 77, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Glory Harvester Church, 1988 Joe Frank Harris Pkwy NW, Cartersville, Georgia. The body will lie in state in the church from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Richard Andrew Foster, Sr., son of Nathan and Clara Mae Foster went home to Glory on April 24, 2018. Richard was a loving husband and father who delighted in being surrounded by his family. He was a Deacon for Greater New Life Christian Center and never met a stranger. 

He loved to cook on his grill and regularly did for all company that dropped by. Every summer he stayed active selling fruits and vegetables, tending his garden ( most of which was donated to people in need in the community), cooking at fish fries, chicken tenders and food on the grill to sell at roadside.

Richard had a great love for animals, having livestock including an emu, donkey, horse and a goat. Everyone was welcome at his beloved farm and a place was made for everyone at the picnic tables. He was well loved in his community and he loved all of the community in return.

His favorite book of the Bible was Revelations: "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away."

He is survived by his wife, Alma Foster; eight children and step-children, Richard, Jr. (Carol), Jennifer (late husband Michael), Janet (Mark), John (Patricia), Mark, Yolanda Sheerer (Terry), Andrea Smallwood, and Daniella Smallwood; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
