Mr. Steven Jarmal James of Cartersville, GA passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:00pm at Cartersville First Baptist Church, 241 Douthit Ferry Road, Cartersville, GA 30120. The body will lie in state in the church from 1:00pm until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Steven Jarmal James was born on December 18, 1997 in Cartersville, Georgia to Paul Steven James and Amanda Lorraine Carter James. He was the youngest of three children. He suddenly departed this life on September 29, 2018 at the age of 20. At an early age, along with his family, he joined Covenant Christian Ministries Church in Marietta, Georgia, under the pastoral leadership of Frederick T. Anderson, Sr.
Steven graduated from Woodland High School in 2017. While in high school, he was awarded certificates in welding at the Bartow College and Career Academy. After graduating he began working with Gerdau Ameristeel Corporation in Cartersville, Georgia as an Electric Furnace Assistant.
He had such a sweet, kind and giving spirit. He enjoyed working, being around family and friends, riding his "mud toys" and street bike. Steven also loved buying items for a lower price and "flipping" them.
Steven is survived by his loving parents, Paul and Amanda James; brother, Jarvis LeVert James; sister, Tiffany Caretta Brown; grandparents, Wilson Carter, Sr. and Carol (William) Garnigan, all of Cartersville, Georgia; uncles, Wilson Carter, Jr. of Kennesaw, Georgia, Willie (Judy) James of Houston, TX, Charles (Farrie) James, Ricky (Jamie) James and Frank James, all of Oak Grove, LA.; aunts, April L. Carter, Jessica (Freddie) Langston and Alicia Williams, all of Cartersville, Georgia, Beulah (Wardell) Brown of Oak Grove, LA. and Betty (Johnny) Pickrom, of Houston, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
