Mrs. Ella Mae (Ellis) Roper entered eternal peace to the Glory of God, on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.  She was born on May 2, 1935, in Cartersville Georgia, to her beloved late parents Cleo and Louise (Evans) Ellis.

Mrs. Ellis-Roper was educated in the Bartow County school systems and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age.  Ella Mae moved to Florida as she entered adulthood to find her place in the world; she spent 20 plus years in Florida and later moved back to her roots to help care for her ailing mother.

Ella Mae was a natural when it came to caregiving; she took GREAT Joy in caring for her family, friends, or anyone that needed her help.  She was employed as a private caretaker the majority of her career, and later took a job at Springdale Convalescent Nursing Facility.

Our beautiful Angel was a proud member of Pine Grove Independent Church.  She attended church faithfully until her health took a turn and she was no longer able to participate.  However, she still found ways to continue to serve the Lord, by looking at televised programs, strengthening her prayer life, reading her bible faithfully, and sharing her testimony as often as she could.  Oh, how she loved her gospel music!

Aunt Ella’s other greatest JOY was spending time with her family; she loved being surrounded by her sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She looked at each of her nieces and nephews as her children, and we looked at her as a second mom.  Aunt Ella was most grateful for all the love we gave her.

Along with her parents, her husband, Leo Roper; her only beloved brother, Willie Lee Brown; her two beautiful sisters, Geraldine and Selena Ellis; and her brother-in-law, John Ramsey, Sr. also preceded her in death.

Ella Mae leaves to cherish her memories two beautiful and caring sisters, Marie Ramsey, and Lillian Ellis; her devoted nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
