Mrs. Grace D. (Durham) Carson

Mrs. Grace D. Carson, 96, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 2:00P.M. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 106 Fire Tower Road, Cartersville, Georgia. The body will lie in state in the church from 1:00P.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 7:00P.M. - 8:00P.M. at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia.

Grace Durham Carson was born on July 24, 1923, in Bartow County, Georgia to Mattie Durham. She attended Bartow County Schools. She was married to Elijah Carson,Jr. and to that union seven children were born.

She was preceded in death by by her mother, husband, and her daughters,  Mattie L. and Grace Lois; sons , Howard and Elijah, and several grandchildren.

 Grace accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Mt. Zion Grassdale Missionary Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia. She was employed by Union Carbide under her health failed. She was a loving caregiver for many. She loved to feed people and was known for her "sugar biscuits."

Grace leaves to cherish her memory; daughters, Brenda Carter, Lillian Faye (Larry) Arnold, and her son, Aaron (Dorothy) Carson, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.
