Ms. Kathleen (Wade) Washington

Mrs. Kathleen Wade Washington, 86 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 106 Fire Tower Road NW, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state in the church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.

Ms. Kathleen Wade Washington was born on September 15, 1932 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Gartrell Wade and Elena Milner Wade.  She was educated in the Bartow County School System and graduated from Summer Hill High School.  Kathleen accepted Christ at an early age. She was a dedicated member of New Hope Baptist Church in Cassville, Georgia her entire life.  She served as a Courtesy Guild and a member of the Usher and Mother’s Boards.  Kathleen was known for her green thumb and service to others.

Kathleen was employed at Union Carbide for 34 years. After retirement, she worked at Noble Hill Memorial Center for more than 10 years.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Mark Washington; her brother, Arthur Lee Wade; and her sister, Mary Eleanor Salter.

Left to cherish her loving memories include her sister, Marva Wade Kinnebrew (Leddell); her six children, Dwayne Washington, Kathy Brown (Elbert), Brenda Shay (Devon), Lisa Washington, and Regina Washington; a special friend, Minister Gloria Beavers; as well as seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.
