Mr. Ralph Clemmons Sr., 95 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 23,2019. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Luke A.M.E. Church, 130 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in state in the church from 10:00am until the hour of service. Interment will follow on Friday, May 3, 2019 in the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia.The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.

Ralph Clemmons Sr. was born on January 11, 1924 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Dan Clemmons and Elsie Johnson Clemmons. 

He was educated in the Bartow County School System and attended Summer Hill High School. Ralph was drafted into the United States Army, where he served his country and fought in the Northern France War and WWII. While in the Army he received the following medals; American Service Theater Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal, EAMET Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He was Honorably Discharged in November 1945.

At an early age he joined Alexander Chapel . Ralph worked for various Manufacturing plants in the Bartow County area. He was last employed with AMB, where he retired after many years of service.

After dating for eleven years, on January 1, 1971 , Ralph and Mattie Lee Conner were joined in Holy Matrimony. They have been together for a total of 59 years, but married for 48 years. When Ralph was not working , he enjoyed listening to music and dancing with or without Mattie Lee. He considered himself a smooth dancer. Ralph was a sports lover, he watched WWE Wrestling and cheering the Atlanta Braves on to Victory. 

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Elise Clemmons; children, Rachel Clemmons, Byron Cook; grandson, Peters Jones; three great grandchildren. and seven siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Mattie Lee Clemmons; sons, Robert Benham of Cartersville, Georgia, Ernest (Toni) Cook of Decatur, Georgia, Niles (Paula) Clemmons of Cartersville, Georgia, Ralph (Mary) Clemmons, Jr. of Cartersville, Georgia and Kentreal Charles (whom he raised); daughters, Sylvia (Miles) Morris of Cartersville, Georgia, Cathy (Mack) Chatmon of Cartersville, Linda (Charles Sr.) Durham of Cartersville, Georgia, Connie Jones of Cartersville, Georgia, Janice Clemmons of Powder Springs, Georgia, Ruby Hermsen of Cartersville, Georgia, and Tammy (Maxwell) Feanny of Cartersville, Georgia; special granddaughters, Dee Chatmon, Marsha Douglas, Taiesha Cook and Pam Johnson; special nephew, Willie Kiser; special son-in-laws, Michael Hermsen and Terry Jones Sr.; twenty-six grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, special friends Bennie Simmons Jr., Peggy Clemmons and Stella Jones; two dear and close friends, Wayne and Bobby Winters Sr., other relatives and friends.
