Ms. Adine Jones-Banks, 57 of Lithonia, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 23, 2026 in Hampton, Georgia. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Advocates For Children, a non-profit organization in Bartow County, Georgia that protects children from abuse and neglect by providing services like the Flowering Branch Children's Shelter, CASA, and programs for grieving children (Rainbow) and at-risk youth (SKORE).
Adine Jones-Banks, was born on July 8, 1968, in Goshen, Alabama to Dalton and Bessie M. Smith Jones. She departed this earthly life on January 23, 2026, in Hampton, Georgia. Adine was the fifth child and a twin born into the Jones family and was always a compassionate, joyful and fearless child. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined the Rockwest Missionary Baptist Church in Goshen, Alabama.
She later joined Berean Christian Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia under the leadership of Rev. Kerwin Lee. Adine was a loving and devoted mother to her son Steven. She cherished time spent with her siblings, other family members and friends. She loved traveling and making meaningful memories. Adine was a dependable and strong-willed person that everyone could count on. She always guided others with love and wisdom.
Adine graduated from Goshen High School in Goshen, Alabama in 1986, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Troy University in 1991. While at Troy University, she proudly joined the Sisterhood of Mu Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (Fall 1989, Thirteen Visions of Vanity Fair). In 1997, she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Auburn University at Montgomery, Alabama.
A registered nurse at Riverwoods Behavioral Health in Riverdale, Georgia, Adine served others with compassion and dedication. Her love, guidance and unwavering presence will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her. Adine was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherished memories, her loving son Steven Banks of Lithonia, Georgia; siblings, James (Ruthie) Jones of Cartersville, Georgia, Karon V. Jones of Silver Springs, Maryland, Jerome (Monica) Jones of Clarksville, Tennessee, Nadine Jones, her twin, of Stone Mountain, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Marcus Jones, Antonio Jones, James Jones, Maya Jones, Morgan Jones; great nephews and nieces, Kadin, Kairo, Zoë, and Zahcë Jones; special goddaughters Victoria and Katie Jackson; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends who will forever remember her loving and compassionate spirit.
