Annie Mae Brown was born on February 18, 1938 to the late William Watson and the late Willie Mae Staples Watson. Annie enjoyed a great childhood that she shared with the many friends that grew up with her in Morgan Quarters. She enjoyed styling hair at an early age and pursued this passion as she went to cosmetology school. She was married to the late John Green and to this union three girls were born, Venetia, Carla and Delia. She raised her girls to be God-fearing and productive members of society. She knew struggles and she knew heartache as she had a brother and a sister that died early in their lives. She did not allow anything to deter her as she knew who God was and that he had great plans for her life. She joined Zion Hill First Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. Walter M. Brown.
Annie loved people and she loved to make them laugh. She had a talent for bringing out the best in others. She also enjoyed traveling and would be packed and ready to go at the drop of a hat.
She could shop with the best of them and had an eye for fashion. Anytime she stepped out she would be styled from head to toe.
Later in life she married the late Douglas Brown and moved to Marietta, Georgia. Annie worked in her field until only a few years ago. She loved being busy and staying active. She loved growing plants and reading. She would read anything from a book to a package label.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Douglas Brown; aunts, Mary Ann Harris, Frances Staples, Leona Glanton, Corrine Lester, Mikra Staples; uncle William Darden; sister, Delores Watson; brothers, Jim Watson and James Watson
