Mrs. Barbara Jean Green, 84 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Piedmont HealthCare Hospital Cartersville. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 1:00P.M. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in state in the church from 12:00P.M.(Noon) until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, 319 North Erwin Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home from 7:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. , 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
Barbara Jean Green made her heavenly transition August 3rd, 2023. Her final moments were spent surrounded by family and friends. Barbara was born September 6, 1938 in Cartersville, Georgia to Will and Zulia Weems. She was a faithful member of MT. Zion Baptist Church where she acted on the Women’s Ministry, Deaconess Board, attended mid day Bible study( pre-covid), and virtual Bible Study in the midst of the pandemic. Barbara spent many years working for The Glad Company as a Packer Operator before she retired to enjoy her days being an attentive wife, mother and grandmother. Barbara spent her free time working election polls and shopping! She cherished moments entertaining company, and brought love and light to everyone in her presence. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Clayton Sr, of 68 years and son Clayton Jr. (Marcella), and her niece Sybil Weems. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Connie Green, brother Will S. "Billy" Weems, and nephew Dexter Weems. Grandchildren, Gabrielle Wright (Donnie), Andrea Arima (Michael), and Adrienne Green. She had one great grandchild, Alexandra Wright. Barbara was loved by many and received special care from her dear Sister in Law, Betty Weems, her very special niece, Sonya “Shine” Smith, her devoted nephew and niece, Guy and Vanessa Green. Friends Dianne Morgan, Sherrion Mays Lee, cousins Freddy, Barry and Shatequa Benham. Barbara will be missed by her lifelong friends, Betty Ruth Benham, Barbara James, Blanche Wade and Sister Patton.
