Betty Sanders Obituary

Mrs. Betty Sanders, 82 of Kingston, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Etowah Landing Care and Rehabilitation Center in Rome, Georgia. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 12:00PM (Noon) at Queens Chapel Independent Methodist Church, 105 Johnson Street, Kingston, GA 30145. The body will lie in state in the church from 11:00AM until the hour of service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.

Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be attending the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend the service , so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted to the service.

Betty Sue Patterson Sanders was born on July 11, 1939 in Kingston, Georgia. The Lord called His daughter Betty home to be with Him on March 6, 2022. She was the first born to the late Dammon Patterson and Mary Elizabeth Watts in Kingston, Georgia.

She attended Bartow County Schools. Betty Sue married the love of her life the late, Howard David Sanders, they were married 45 years. Betty Sue accepted Christ at an early age and was a long-time member of Queens Chapel Methodist Church in Kingston, Georgia. Together, they had three children and one grandson.

Betty was employed at Cartersville Spinning for over 20 years. She and her late husband , Howard owned and operated the Gemini in Rome, Georgia for several years. Betty Sue did not meet a stranger, to know hew was to love her. She was one that would give anything to anyone. She always made sure others had food to eat and clothes on their backs. One of her favorite things to do was help anyone she could whether she knew them or not. One of her hobbies was to cook and bake which is something she did at home a well as her job at church for many years as the president in the kitchen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dammon Patterson and Mary Elizabeth Watts; husband, Howard David Sanders; sons, Clyde Wells and Howard Sanders,Jr.; brother, Lonnie Elliott; sisters, Helen (Willie D) Long and Laura (Charles) Baugh; grandson, Jalen Tyrese Sanders.

Betty Sue leaves to cherish a loving daughter, Teresa (Twiggy) Sanders; special great niece, Deloren (Lolo) Williams; sister, Diane Wiggins; special great-great nephew, Brayden; great -great niece; Dezyre ; and a host of nieces , nephews and other relatives that she loved dearly.
