For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16
Calvin Montgomery was born on February 24, 1956 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late David Montgomery and the late Minnie Montgomery Dyer. He was affectionately known to his friends as “Montgomery” and to his special cousin TJ as “Big Man”.
He was educated in the Bartow County School System attending Cass High School. He played his favorite sport for the Colonels, which was football. In his earlier years Calvin played basketball for Clover Leaf Middle School. Calvin married his high school sweetheart Julia Lynn on February 20, 1988 and this made him feel as if his bucket list was complete, and now he could do everything in life that he dreamed of. Calvin’s favorite thing to do was cook for his family. His main dishes were turnip greens, collard greens and his famous pig feet. When Calvin wasn’t cooking he was showing off his dance moves with his family and friends. His love for his family was one that was greatly appreciated by all. Calvin loved his grandchildren as they brought life to him and would always put a smile on his face.
Preceding Calvin in death are his parents; his sister, Patricia Ann Montgomery; and his son Patrick Kelly Lynn.
Left to cherish his beautiful memories is his wife of thirty-four years, Julia Mae Lynn Montgomery; daughter, Carmen Roberson (Dale); three beautiful grandchildren, Kayla and Brianna Roberson, and Sa’rion Lynn; aunt, Ruby Jean Jones; sister Mary Lou Hendricks; and a host of brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that he loved dearly.
