Carrie Ann (Henderson) Tanner

Mrs. Carrie A. Tanner, 87, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 1:00pm at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in state in the church from 12:00pm (noon) until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 1020 Mission Road SW, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 26, 2019 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Owens Funeral Home , 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.

Ann was born on March 7, 1932 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Lucy Mae Jackson and Ralph Henderson. She was educated in the Bartow County School System. Ann attended Summer Hill High School , she married the late Nelvin Miller and to this union three children were born. 

She worked for many years but decided to retire early to take care of her mother. Ann loved to cook and take care of her family. She loved everyone, always had a smile, loved her church and loved to sing.

Ann leaves to cherish her memories; daughter, Deborah (Burnise) Spencer; sons, Dwight (Ezella ) Miller and Barney (Faye) Miller; nephew, Clifford (Shurrie) Ellis, Jr.; grandchildren, Dru (Wanda) Spencer, Valerie Spencer, Brandon Barton, Heather Miller, Jodie Jewell and Rosenda Jewell; six great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She also leaves a special friend , Willie Tanner.
