Life and Legacy of Charlie D. Beavers

‘I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”

On Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:38P.M.; Mr. Charlie Daniel Beavers was ushered into the presence of the Lord. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family members.

Charlie was born in Bartow County, Cartersville, Georgia to Robert and Helen Beavers. He was the 2nd child of 7 siblings. He was affectionately called “Chuck” by family and friends. He accepted Christ at an early age at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and Later joined Jesus Alive Mission where he was filled with the Holy Spirit. He became the Father of the church and served in many aspects of the church functions. Charlie Dan served as a member of the leadership. He made sure everything ran smoothly from the roof of the building to the grounds. Every member knew him as DAD. He loved serving and helping meet the needs of others.

Charlie was a graduate of Summer Hill High School. He attended Tuskegee University thinking he would become a mechanic but the opportunity to join the team at Lockheed Martin shifted his vision. He began as an assembly worker then moved to the tool shop and then delivery where he was employed until becoming ill. Chuck always put his heart into any job that was before him. He received several awards for quality service and a Gold Star attendance record. He was employed at Lockheed for fifty plus years before retiring because of illness.

His hobbies included watching westerns and spending time with Justice and Kali his great-grandchildren, who always made him happy. Chuck loved the simple life and found working in his yard or relaxing on his recliner watching old westerns.

Charlie Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Beavers; two brothers, Bishop Robert “Jackey” Beavers and Jimmy Larry Beavers.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 49 years, Pastor Lillian Beavers; four sons, Hershel Hall, Kenneth Hall, Darren Beavers (Brandis) and Roshaud Hall, all from Bartow County; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; a god-son, Joshua McKinney from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; spiritual son David Houston; three sisters, Hattie McClure, Carolyn Crawford (Andrew-Deceased), Dorothy Dodd (Douglas) all of Cassville; brother, Matthew Beavers (Shelia), Cassville; sisters –in-law, Elaine Boyd, Sarah Glover, Anglia Henderson, Gloria Beavers and Faye Beavers; brothers-in-law, Nathaniel Darby (Corrine), Hubert Darby (Florence) and Ronnie Darby; and a host of other family members and friends.
