Mr. Corey Alexander Morris, 46, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 12:00PM (Noon) at Oak Hill Cemetery, 319 N. Erwin Street, Cartersville, GA 30120. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.
Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and, MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be attending the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend the service, so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted. However, the service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
God saw him getting tired, a cure not meant to be, so He put His arms around him and whispered “Come to Me.”
After a valiant battle against the effects of COVID-19, The Lord reclaimed one of His own on August 26, 2021. Corey is in the arms of a loving God and has found peace, contentment, and rest.
His story...
Corey was born on June 20, 1975 in Rome, Georgia, to Virginia Stevenson Morris and the late Tommy Morris. Corey was the eldest of the two children born to this union. At an early age, he became a member of Damascus Baptist Church in Emerson, Georgia. Corey would follow in his father’s footsteps and become a proud Cartersville Hurricane football player and a 1995 graduate. After graduation, Corey studied computer programming and graphic design at The Art Institute of Atlanta and also worked, alongside his father, at Glad Products until its closure in 2004. When not working, Corey loved to work on cars and was an avid sports fan. Until his untimely death, Corey was a hard-working and dedicated employee at Anheuser Busch.
His Heavenly Family....
Corey is preceded in death by his father, Mr. Tommy Lee Morris; his grandparents, Charlie and Thelma Morris, Clifford Stevenson, Jr. and Margie Nell Stevenson Hubert; his aunt, Lucy Morris Hudson; his uncles, Lorenzo Morris, Charlie Morris Jr., Robert Morris, and Norman Stevenson. We know that they all welcomed him with hearty hugs and loving spirits.
His Legacy....
Those left to hold and cherish his memory are: A loving mother, Virginia Morris; children Khalil (Tiaunna), Saniah, Alexee, and Julian Morris; grandson, Kyler Morris; brother, Steven Morris; niece, Kaydan Morris; Godfather, William “Billy” Wright; Godson Jakoby Baylin; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and many more people that loved Corey and he loved them in return.
