Cynthia Lynn Kennedy Mann, 67, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Advent Health Gordon surrounded by her loving family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Victory Fellowship Center, 925 Oothcalooga Street, Calhoun Georgia 30701. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.
Cynthia Lynn Kennedy was the third child born on March 10, 1956 to the late Nelson and Nell Kennedy. Cynthia was married to Lewis Mann in April of 1983. From that union, they shared one daughter and one son. Cynthia graduated Calhoun High School in 1974 and later moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she began her professional career.
Cynthia was a loving wife, mother, and Gigi, a wonderful sister, and fun-loving friend. The pride and joy of her life was her family, Lewis, Alexis, Alex and Memphis. Cynthia loved to decorate and use her creativity for tablescapes when setting up a spread for an event. She also loved to bake, those “crack cookies” and German chocolate cakes were always out of this world addictive. She loved to dance, listen to music, watch her westerns and the Hallmark Channel, gather with family and friends, get her walks in, shop at her favorite store, Belk and go on road trip adventures with her family.
Cynthia was an active member of Allen Chapel AME Church where she stood as a trustee and later the treasurer. She loved her church family and enjoyed planning and preparing for events, especially ones that included meals. Whether it was “to feed” as she called it, for a church anniversary or for parking cars for Friday Night Lights for football games, she knew how to organize and put on a great spread of food for others.
Cynthia worked for the Georgia Department of Public Health, spending many years as the front office manager at Murray County Health Department before moving over to the District Office where she earned her certification as a Certified Medical Biller and Coder. She retired from “The State” as she always called it in February of 2020 after putting in 30 years of service. She spent most of her retirement working at the church, spending time with her family, helping with her granddaughter, working in her flowerbeds, going to lunch with friends and watching the western channel.
Cynthia took her last earthly breath on November 11, 2023, 11/11. The Angel number 1111 means that you will soon embark upon your spiritual awakening journey and not to shy away from this new beginning. The significance of 1111 is that the universe is encouraging you on a new path. A path that only you are meant for. She has indeed started a new path with a new and renewed beginning in body and in spirit.
