Mother Elmira Gamble, 89 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away surrounded by her loving family at her residence on Monday, April 18, 2022. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 1:00P.M. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, GA. 30120. The body will lie in state in the church from 12:00PM (Noon) until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, 319 North Erwin Street, Cartersville, GA. 30120. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 6:00PM - 7:00PM at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, GA. 30120.
Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be attending the service. The family is the main concerns during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend the service, so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted. However, the service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
Elmira Garnigan Gamble entered eternal peace on April 18, 2022. She was born May 18, 1932, the eighth of nine children born to the late Horace Garnigan and the late Clara Wise Garnigan Arnold.
Elmira accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful and dedicated member serving on the Mother’s Board and Deaconess Board until her health failed. Elmira was educated at Summer Hill High School culminating in graduation with the class of 1950. She worked many years for Howell Quillian Clinic and Sam Howell Memorial Hospital. She later retired from Cartersville Medical Center as a dietary supervisor. Elmira had a loving and caring heart. Her greatest joy was her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, but most of all, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Elmira was united in Holy Matrimony to Roan Gamble. To this union five sons were born.
Elmira was preceded in death by her husband Roan Gamble, son Derrick Gamble, parents, and siblings Elizabeth Williams, Marie Garnigan, Helen Garnigan, Eula Cameron, Coleman Garnigan, Horace Garnigan, Ben Garnigan, and her loving twin Elvira Wilson.
Elmira leaves to cherish her precious memories, sons Mark Gamble (Shirley), Reginald Gamble (Sarah), William Gamble and Keith Gamble, special granddaughter Deldreqka Scott, sister-in- law Lillie Knight, brother-in-law Sylvester Gamble, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
