Mr. Emory Benham, Jr. 81, of White, Georgia passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Piedmont Healthcare Cartersville. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 12:00 PM (Noon) at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.
Mr. Emory Benham Jr., born on October 7, 1943, he answered the Master’s call and transitioned to his heavenly home on Friday, September 26, 2025, surrounded by the love of his devoted children. Though he gave no earthly sign that he was preparing to leave, he departed peacefully.
From humble beginnings, Emory was the eldest of nine children born to Emory Benham, Sr. and Nellie Pearl Carson Benham in Cartersville, Georgia. Raised in “Mechanicsville,” a close-knit community made up largely of black families, Emory always cherished the bonds and memories formed there. His parents were faithful members of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. They instilled in him a reverence for God that became the foundation of his life. Emory moved on to Acworth, Georgia where he spent a decent portion of his life living right off Glade Road, until he moved back home to Cartersville in years later.
Blessed with a brilliant mind and gifted hands, Emory became a Master Mechanic and certified Diesel Mechanic, working for Yellow Freight Company for many years. He later went on to establish B&L Satellite Systems, serving as a private contractor for Dish Network. A man of remarkable skills, hard work, and perseverance, Emory proved that with dedication, faith, and the guidance of God, nothing is impossible. Above all his accomplishments, Emory was a family man. He was the proud father of four children.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Caroline Benham of Rome, Georgia; his brothers Charlie William Benham, Cornelius Benham, Daniel Benham, Joe Benham, and Kimboak Benham.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Cloretta Benham Sellars of McDonough, GA., and Brigett Benham Cunningham (Dexter) of Acworth, GA.; one son, Bryan McClendon (Shelia) of Ringgold, GA.; his sister, Lelia Benham of Mansfield, OH.; his brothers, Charles Benham of Dayton, OH,; and David Benham of Rockmart, GA. He also leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren—Brian, Sherrita, Natosha, Justin, Angel, Jasmine, Jaeden, and Jaret; twelve precious great-grandchildren. A special son, Curtis Sellers, and dear friends James Neal and Mary Wallace, who held a cherished place in his heart as well.
Emory’s wisdom, generosity, and presence will be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The calls for his trusted advice on all things mechanical and electrical will remain unanswered for now—until that blessed day when we meet again.
