Eric Leon Stocks, Sr.

Mr. Eric Leon Stocks, Sr., 59, of Rockmart, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 1:00PM at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel , 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in state in the chapel from 12:00PM (Noon) until the hour of service. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.

Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be admitted to the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend the service, so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted.

Eric Leon Stocks, Sr. was born on January 24, 1962 in Rockmart, Georgia to the late Grace Stocks and Harold Alexander. He was educated in the Polk County School System and graduated with the Class of 1981. Eric enjoyed playing sports for the Rockmart High School Yellowjackets. He played football, where he was considered a great running back; he was a wrestler for the high school as well. He won many medals and trophies for the Yellowjackets during his time there.

After graduating, Eric started his employment with Goodyear Mills in Rockmart, where he worked for ten years. Goodyear is now called Meggitt Industries.

Eric is preceded in death by his parents, Grace Stocks and Harold Alexander; and one sister, Danita Alexander of Meridian, Mississippi.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; sons, Eric Stocks, Jr. and Kionte Glover; granddaughters, Kyrah Stocks and Kanaya Stocks; brothers, Kevin (Floreace ) Stocks of Rockmart, GA., Harold (Dawn) Perkins of Tampa, FL., and Anthony P. (Demetria) Alexander of Leesburg, GA.,; nieces, Kentasha and Kaisha Stocks; a very special friend, Edward Ray Rowland Cooper; and a host of other relatives and friends.
