Ethel K (Kincaid) Willmot

Mrs. Ethel K. Willmot, 94 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at her residence. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at Oak Hill Cemetery, 319 North Erwin Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.

Mother Ethel Kincaid Willmot was a fun-loving mother, sister, friend and associate who always had a kind good word to say about her family and others along the way. She would say… if you can’t say anything good about a person ‘just don’t say anything at all’ She had time to listen and would give strong advice to her family and others. She would welcome you in her home, offer you a meal and would say… ‘sit awhile.’ You would always feel the love of Mother Ethel with her loving, caring, stern voice… ‘Staying y’all come back now.’

Mother Ethel passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born February 28, 1931, to the proud parents of Louise Kincaid Cooper and Henry “Squat Low” Erwin.  She was a beautiful treasure to her three Loving sisters; the late Annie Christine Kincaid Callahan, Jane Kincaid Marshall, Esther Erwin; and three awesome brothers the late Clarence Kincaid, Melvin Kincaid and Henry Erwin. Mother Ethel grew up in Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia; attended Summer Hill High School and graduated with class of 1949.

Ethel fell in love and was married to the love of her life, the late David Willmot Jr., and she was blessed as a loving, caring mother of Samuel DeVaughn Kincaid, Denise Kincaid (T.J.) Bryant and baby girl Anita Delores Willmot and Venessa Willmot.

She was self-employed for many faithful years and retired as a Home Technician. She gave freely of her time and assistance to her family, church, Mount Zion Baptist, and to the Cartersville community, schools and others in need.

Mother Ethel was dearly loved, and she is survived by her children, seven grandchildren: Anita Diane Taylor, Rico Bryant, Jalal Slade, Antonie Bryant, the late Caresha Dragg, Titus Jackson, Kellyn Kidwell. (23) Great grandchildren; (2) Great- great grandchildren; Special cousins Ann Thomas, Sheena Baltimore, Rubye Hardin, Ann Robinson, Theresa Wilkins; Best friends Marcella Jones and the late Sallie Jones and many nieces, nephews and other family friends and associates.
