Eugene Tolbert

Mr. Eugene Tolbert, 80 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2020. A Private Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 1:00pm at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The service will be live-streamed for those wanting to view the service.

Mr. Eugene Tolbert was born August 11, 1939 to the late Addie Belle Cooper Tolbert in Cartersville, Georgia. He was educated in the Bartow County School System and graduated with class of 1954. He later attended Coosa Valley Technical School and received his credentials as a Mechanical Technician.He was employed with the Atlanta Country Club as a foreman and retired after 42 years of service.

Eugene met and married Joyce Tate in 1964 and to this union, two beautiful children were born, Regina and Eugene.

When Eugene was not working, you could find him fishing, golfing, talking, joking around, and rebuilding cars.  The highlight of his life was enjoying his grandchildren.

His mother, Addie Belle Tolbert and one niece, Carles Allen, preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife of 55 years, Joyce Tolbert; children, Regina Young (Rex) and Eugene Tolbert (Diane); grand children, Jimia Young, Tahjia Davis, John Floyd, Joshua Young (Chantel), Sherry Young, Latisha Young and Dreannah Williamson;  great grand children;  sisters, Betty Conley and Mary Ann Slocum; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
