Gwendolyn Ann Patterson, 64 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Piedmont Healthcare of Cartersville surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Pine Grove Independent Church, 22 Pine Grove Church Road NE, Cartersville, Georgia 30121 at 12:00P.M. (Noon). The body will lie in state in the church from 11:00A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, 165 Old Tennessee Road NE, Cartersville, Georgia 30121. Please keep her family i your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 4:00P.M. - 5:00P.M. at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home , 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
Gwendolyn Ann (Goss) Patterson was born on October 20, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio to Betty Davis and the late Cecil Goss. She grew up in Rochelle, Georgia and graduated from Rochelle High School. Gwen furthered her education at Albany State College receiving an Associate Degree in Nursing. While studying in college, Gwen developed great leadership, effective communication and problem-solving skills. This led her to McDonald’s, where she worked as Store Manager and Trouble Shooter for many years.
She was an active member of Pine Grove Independent Church, working with the Youth Department and Youth Choir. Gwen remained faithful until her health began to fail her, however she never missed watching Sunday service on the live stream. Gwen enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable garden. It gave her much pleasure to share and serve her family organic vegetables out of her garden.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Goss; brother, Derrick Gross; sister in law, Sandy Goss and stepfather, Pleas Thomas.
Gwen leaves to cherish her loving memory, a loving and devoted husband, Leroy Patterson; one son, Robert Patterson; mother, Betty Davis; sister, Tracey Porter; aunt, Ernestine Dupree; nephew, Tramar Howard, and other nieces and nephews; two special friends, Linda Howard and Ozella Mays and a host of other relatives and friends.
