Helen Elizabeth (Rogers) Heard

Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Heard, 85 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, March 15, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Luke A.M.E. Church, 130 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in-state in the church from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, 165 Old Tennessee Road NE, Cartersville, Georgia 30121. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Helen Elizabeth Rogers Heard was born on May 22,1939 to the late Capers Rogers and Mary Thomas Rogers.

She was educated in City of Cartersville School System School. Helen accepted Christ at an early age. She was faithful member of St. Luke AME Church until her health declined. Her favorite pastime was baking cakes, cooking, gardening, watching her soap operas and games shows.  She loved her family and was very proud of her husband and children.

Helen married Charlie Weston Heard and to this union five children were born. She was employed at Goodyear Tire and Rubber as a Spooler for twenty plus years until she retired.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Weston Heard; parents, Caper and Mary Rogers; children, Bonita Henderson, Carey Heard and Alicia Rush; brothers, Capers Rogers, Jr., James Rogers, Charles Rogers, and Bill Rogers; sisters, Betty Hyatt and Lois Rogers; granddaughter, Nakial Henderson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Donna Marie Heard, and Cheryl (Nathaniel) Nelson; sisters, Marlyn Clark, and Carolyn Jones; grandchildren, Tunesia Pina, Pamela (Terrick) Patton, Dustin Heard, Travis Swell, Brandon and Frank Rain; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great- great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
