Irene Johnson was born in Cartersville, GA on May 25, 1943, to the late Henry Little and Geneva Godhigh-Little. She was a dedicated member of the Cartersville Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation where she faithfully attended until her passing. Throughout her life, she helped many in her community and often opened her doors to others when in need of a place to stay.
Irene was a great cook and loved to bake. She could sew and often made clothes for herself and her children. She was a “well dressed” lady who loved fashion, and later in life, thrifting became one of her favorite hobbies. Those closest to her enjoyed her sense of humor, noting that she was quick witted and funny. She was a strong and determined lady who overcame several obstacles and health challenges. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with beloved family and friends. She had a very special bond with her granddaughter, Tiffany (Johnson) Lightning, whom she spent a great deal of time with until her passing.
