Jamie L. Simpson, 40 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at St. Luke A.M.E. Church, 130 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120 The body will lie in state in the church from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, 165 Old Tennessee Road NE, Cartersville, Georgia 30121. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.
Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be admitted into the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend the service, so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted. However, THIS SERVICE WILL BE LIVE-STREAMED.
Jamie Louann (Ramsey) Simpson was born on June 15, 1981 in Atlanta, GA to Warren “Buddy” Ramsey and Linda Joyce Casey Aiken Cox. She was raised by her Aunt Florence Canty, who she called“mama”. She attended school in the Cartersville School System. After graduation she worked as an employee with the Tallatoona Headstart Program. Jaime was known and loved by everyone for her beautiful smile and spirit. She was married to the late Carl Simpson; no children were born to this union. She later gave birth to a loving son, Jimmy Nesbitt, Jr. Jamie was a faithful member of St. Luke A.M.E. Church, where she participated as a member of the choir and loved praising the Lord.
Jamie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Simpson; father, Warren “Buddy” Ramsey; mother, Linda Joyce Casey Aiken Cox; special cousin and loving caregiver, Patricia Ann Canty Henry; paternal grandparents, Henry Ramsey and Bertha Richards Ramsey; sister, Sabrina Cox; aunt and caregiver, Frankie North; and Uncle, John Ramsey.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her beloved son, Jimmy Nesbitt, Jr.; Special aunt’s, “Mama” Florence Canty and Marie Ramsey; brothers, David Aiken; Joel Aiken and sister, Casey Cox Blaney. Special cousins, Patrick Henry and Natasha Henry, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. A huge heartfelt thank you to Jamie’s caretakers during her time of illness. Thank you for loving and caring for her as family. A special acknowledgement to Dexter and Patricia Nesbitt for their loving care of Jimmy Nesbitt, Jr.
