Mrs. Jeanette Craig Chester, 85, of Cartersville, Georgia passed on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St Luke A.M.E. Church, 130 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Interment will follow in Cassville Cemetery, Cassville, Georgia. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. The service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
Jeanette Craig Chester, a devoted daughter, solid sister, loving mother, wonderful aunt, sweet caring grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away suddenly at the age of 85 on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital. Born on May 2. 1938 to the late Charles D. and Hattie M. Marshall Craig, she attended the schools at Summer Hill during her formative years. She later became employed with the Department of Transportation. After retirement, she conducted private sittings, developing lasting friendships with those she cared for and their family members, well into her retirement years.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Waymond Chester, Mark Chester,Sr., and Kenneth Chester; her parents, and several siblings. She is survived by her children, William (Iris Lynn) Chester, Rodney (Sylvia) Chester, Veronica (Donald) Wheeler, and Amy Rodgers; grandchildren, great grandchildren; siblings, Claudette Craig Burroughs, Ronald Craig, Donald Craig, and Mary Ann (Mike) Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
