Mr. Jolly Mitchell Solomon, 67 of Rockmart, Georgia passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Cedar Springs Health and Rehab DBA The Cottages at Rockmart. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.
Jolly Mitchell Solomon was born on March 13, 1956 to the late Edward Solomon and Willie Mae Fowler Solomon of Emerson, Georgia. Jolly accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age. Throughout his early years he attended the Bartow County School System. He played basketball on the varsity team and received two trophies, while attending Cass High he was part of the tract team. One of his most fund memories at Cass was escorting Lillie Jewell to the prom.
Jolly worked as a handyman for years, painting, carpentry and many other things. He briefly lived in Orlando with his sister Avery, while there he worked as a day janitor for Sears in Altamonte Springs, Florida. He enjoyed making his famous Strawberry cake, which by the way was his favorite. He also loved eating Reese’s peanut butter cups and drinking cokes. Usually his younger nieces and nephews would grab one or two, which he didn’t mind at all. Jolly enjoyed spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.
On November 20, 2023, God called his humble, gentle servant home to be reunited with his parents Edward and Willie Mae Fowler Solomon; brothers, Kinsey Lewis Solomon Sr. and Thomas Edward Solomon; sisters, Sharon Vandora Solomon Scrutchins and Lois Jean Solomon Kellogg; Special cousin, Joe Curtis Howard and niece, Latesha Solomon Davenport.
He leaves to cherish his memories, sister, Avery June Solomon; Family Matriarch Aunt Berlene Fowler Howard; special cousin, Aulexia Howard; special nieces, Dana Solomon, Melanie Solomon, and Dessiree Sheffield; special nephews, Jeffrey Solomon and Gregory Edward Solomon who visited him often at the Cottages in Rockmart. Jolly also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
