Mrs. Juanita Philpot, 72, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul Baptist Church, 428 Pleasant Valley Road, S.E., Silver Creek, Georgia 30173. The body will lie in-state at the church from 12:00 P.M. (Noon) until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, 165 Old Tennessee Rd. NE, Cartersville, Georgia 30121. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, GA 30120.
Juanita Davis Philpot was born October 16, 1949, to the late Joe C. and Lois Davis of Cartersville, Georgia. She was one of ten children of this blessed union. On September 29, 2022, Juanita was called from her earthly home to her eternal home. She was educated in the Bartow County School System and graduated from Summer Hill High School in 1967.
She married Larry Ray Philpot on May 29, 1969. After starting their family Juanita jumped into the workforce doing anything she could from her start at EZ Mills, Kmart, KFC, Glad, and finally retiring from Big Lots where she had the most fun working with her best friend Gloria Finney.
She accepted Christ as her Savior becoming a member of the Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. In 2013 she decided to join St. Paul Baptist Church under the leadership of her son Pastor Deshannon Davis. Her favorite things to do were crocheting blankets, word puzzles, spending time with all of her grandkids and family, and watching her favorite shows Charmed, Golden Girls, Tyler Perry Plays, and Monk.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Larry Ray Philpot; siblings Victoria Williams, Robert Lee Davis, and Jo Ann Davis Griffin; grandson Kelvin Lomax; grand-daughter Crystal Lynn Johnson; brother in laws, Walter Griffin and Reuben Gay; special friend Tommy Burdette and best friend Loretta Harrison.
She leaves to cherish her fondest memories; children, Deshannon Davis (Judy), Larry Darnell Philpot; Bonus daughter Omega Williamson (Tim); Daughter in law Katrina Philpot; eight grandchildren, Adam L. Davis (Heather), Katrina Davis, Mercedes Williams, Xavier Davis (Christina), Ashley Askew, Ashton Shelton, and Phelan Philpot, Zechariah Williamson; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kelsey Lomax, Amari Lomax, Tegan Lomax, Kelvin Lomax Jr, Myah Davis, Rhyus Davis, O’Rhyan Davis, Malachi Davis, Makayla Davis, Journey Davis, Josiah Davis, Xaylan Davis, Ariahana Davis, and Kaliahna Davis; siblings, Thelma Gay, George Davis, Annie Bell Davis Ledbetter, Mary Lou Davis, Marvin Davis, and Charlie Davis (Pat); special sister in-laws, Priscilla Davis and Marie Williams (Sammy); best friend Gloria Finney and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, church family, and friend.
