Born to Jonathan and Felicia (Green) James on May 29, 1997, Kenan (Nookie) was the person that would make your light shine. His ray of light was illuminated on August 6, 2023 when God said, "Well done my good and faithful servant. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master."
Kenan entered the gifted program in kindergarten. He also joined the Beta Club in middle school and many other clubs in middle school, as well as high school. He graduated from East Paulding High School at the top 10 of his class.
Kenan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence from Georgia Institute of Technology (GA Tech). His foundation was laid with the Paulding County School System. He remained deeply connected to his roots. What set Kenan apart was his rare combination of qualities: a kind heart and an incredibly generous spirit. Those fortunate enough to cross paths with him found his presence to be a once-in-a-lifetime encounter that left a lasting positive impact.
Though his life was short lived, he traveled and accomplished so much. He was a member of Delta Upsilon International Fraternity, Vice President of Internal Affairs and Head Advisor of Student Government Association, while at Georgia Tech. He was a Software Engineering Intern at Salesforce (San Francisco, CA), Visa (Austin, TX) and The Home Depot (Atlanta, GA). He was also an Information Technology intern at Web2Asia (Shanghai, China). After obtaining his degree at Georgia Tech, Kenan worked as a Software Engineer at Google in San Francisco, CA where he lived for the past 3 years. Kenan was adventurous, a 1st degree black belt in Pil Sung Do, loved to cook, dance and was the life of the party. He also had an impeccable sense of fashion.
Kenan is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobbie & Ann Green, John & Ann James and Rebecca Shepherd.
He also leaves cherished memories to his parents Jonathan and Felicia, sisters Micia and Tashia, brother Jonathan II, nephew Prophet, niece Phoenix, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and acquaintances.
