Lois Jean (Solomon) Kellogg

Mrs. Lois Jean Kellogg, 77 of Acworth, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 1:00pm at Damascus Baptist Church, 174 Gaston Westbrook Avenue, Emerson, Georgia 30137. The body will lie in state in the church from 12:00pm (noon) until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Emerson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.

Mrs. Lois was born on August 17,1941 to Mr. & Mrs. Edward & Margaret Solomon in Springfield, Ohio. At the early age of two she moved to Georgia and was raised by her uncle and aunt, Mr. Freddie and Mrs. Minnie James. Lois Jean attended the Bartow County School System. Her goal in life was keeping her family close in spirit and in love. Her family and friends meant everything to her.

Her love will be forever cherished in the hearts of her loving and devoted husband, Mr. James L. Kellogg; her children, Melanie Solomon, Jeffery Solomon, Gregory Jones Solomon, Janice (Tim) Houston, Alison Gilchrist, Beverly Scrutchins, Gail Scrutchins and Donna Kellogg; three sisters, Avery June Solomon, Ann (Frank) Clemmons and Cathy (Montana) Brown; four brothers, Thomas Solomon, Mickey Solomon, Roy Knowles and Ronald James; 25 grandchildren; 23 great- grand children; and a host of other relatives and friends; especially those close friends that she chatted with daily and held near and dear in her heart to the very end.
