Marilyn Denise Benham, 59 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Piedmont Healthcare Cartersville, Georgia surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 12:00P.M. at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.
Marilyn Denise Benham passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Piedmont Hospital Cartersville, Georgia. She was born on March 30, 1965 to the late Serena F. Benham (Parker) and James Evans in Cartersville, Georgia. Marilyn and her siblings attended Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church with her grandmother. She joined the church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Eugene Mitchell and sang in the Zion Bell Choir #1.
She was educated in the City of Cartersville School System graduating in 1985 from Cartersville High School. Some of Marilyn’s places of employment included working in the lunchroom at the school and at her church taking care of the children in the nursery. Marilyn loved spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite pastime was going to yard sales, going out to eat, watching her television programs and most importantly spending time with her son and her favorite auntie Mrs. Emma J. Epps.
She is preceded in death by her parents, ; grandparents, Flora E. Benham and Bradford Benham Sr.; and her brother, Eddie Evans.
Marilyn leaves to cherish her loving memories, her son, Samuel (Betty) Steward; sisters, Melody (James) Epps, Miriam Loyal, Rosita Watts and Felicia Montoya; a special niece, Tikita Loyal; two very special friends, Judy Love and Donna Wilbanks; a loving Godmother to the Watts and Wilbanks families; special love for Kyle Wilbanks; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
