So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory? 1 Corinthians 15: 54-55
On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Mark entered eternal peace after enduring a battle with cancer. Mark Q. Carter Sr., the son of Mary Lee Carter and the late Mack Quinton Carter, was born in Cartersville, Ga. On February 4, 1960.
He was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia Henderson Carter, his sister Melida Carter Wilson, grand-parents, Arthur and Oper Leonard and Quitman and Fannie Carter.
Mark attended Cartersville City Schools, graduating from Cartersville High School with the class of 1979. He was a member of the Cartersville football team and was well liked by his peers. The last months of his life was a testament of his faith and dependence on God. He fought a good fight until the end. His last days reflected the lyrics of the song, “In Christ Alone”....
In Christ alone, my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song. This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when striving cease. My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand.... No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the power of Christ in me From life’s first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny...
