Mary Wells Obituary

Mary Lee Wells, 74 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Piedmont Healthcare Cartersville surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 1:00P.M. at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. On Monday, July 15, 2024 at 5:15 AM, Ms. Mary Wells received her crown of glory and was called to her heavenly home. Mary was born on March 13, 1950 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Charlie and Pearl Beavers Benham. Mary attended Summer Hill High School and then enrolled at Knoxville College. During this time, she married her high school sweetheart, Mr. Jerry Wells. They established their life in Kingston, Georgia. To their union, God blessed them with two children: Scott Von and Bradley Ray. During the early 1970’s, they moved to Rome where Mary worked for the Rome City School System as the secretary to the school Superintendent and as an Administrative Assistant at Northwest Regional Hospital. She later returned to reside in Cartersville to be near her family. A woman of deep faith, Mary was actively involved in her church community. She eagerly participated in Bible studies, finding solace in her faith and strength in her relationship with Jesus Christ.

Mary enjoyed volunteering at local churches, running youth groups, organizing member committees, donating and organizing community events. She also spent time volunteering at Highland Rivers Behavioral Health Center. There, she attended self-enrichment classes, taught various peer groups and worked alongside staff members to serve the community that benefited from the many services that the Center provided. She advocated strongly for others that lived with disabilities-both physical and mental.

Mary was called to her forever home on Monday, July 15, 2024. Right before she took her last breath, she said, “I’m tired”. Be comforted in the fact that now, Mary is resting with her Lord and Saviour.

Matthew 11:28–30 28- Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29-Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye

shall find rest unto your souls. 30- For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
